In the Pablo Group we ask ourselves why before we ask ourselves how.
If that makes you chuckle, shake your head, or roll your eyes, we understand. We do it ourselves sometimes. There are smoother ways.
Is the Pablo Group about buildings and businesses? Yes. But that's like saying a roller coaster is about seats and tickets, rather than the ride and the riders. If we can address community challenges through commercial ventures, we want to create those opportunities. We pay people willing to show up in the name of possibility. We are interested in the unexpected. We are not afraid of flux.
We also understand the importance of not getting cocky. We operate in humility, but that doesn't mean small, or safe. We don't mind taking wrong turns while trying to do the right thing. Sometimes we improve working conditions first and business conditions second. Sometimes it's about being the first to try something in the hopes that someone else will come along and do it better. We'll take our lumps so someone else can take the lead.
We are committed to healthy business practices, but our bottom line - our why - is defined by experiences. We believe in what we're doing, but even more we believe in what comes after this. Not just an apartment building or a coffee shop, but a neighborhood. The communities within our community. And even as we honor, incubate, and encourage entrepreneurship, we recognize some community challenges are not solved by standard market forces; in philosophy and philanthropy, the Pablo Group promises to help fill the gaps.
We want to break ground without breaking promises. We want to put people and planet before profits. But vision without action feeds no one. Be you employee, neighbor, or both, we expect you to let us know when we fall short. Where we can do better. When something goes differently than we hoped, we talk about it. If we serve our employees well, we serve our community well.
We don't want to push the change, we want to incubate change. Foster change.
We want to do the ready, set, go, then watch our neighbors win.
